Program overview
The Human Factors and Ergonomics (Applied Ergonomics) one-year (two-term) Ontario College Graduate Certificate program prepares students to assess, design, and optimize safe, productive work environments. The curriculum focuses on human-centered design, anthropometry, biomechanics, risk assessment, and human-machine interaction to improve employee safety and operational performance.
Students utilize specialized ergonomic tools and technologies to solve workplace challenges. In the team-based Capstone project, students collaborate with industry experts to design, implement, and evaluate real-world solutions that optimize interactions between humans, tools, machines, and technology.
