Program overview
The Veterinary Technician two-year Ontario College Diploma program equips students with the medical, clinical, and laboratory skills required to work alongside veterinarians, public health officers, and research scientists. The curriculum covers nutrition, clinical pathology, microbiology, diagnostic imaging, anatomy, physiology, genetics, and species-specific nursing care.
The program utilizes a humane, simulation-based learning approach. Students master essential clinical and surgical techniques using advanced anatomical models and realistic simulation scenarios risk-free before progressing to hands-on field placements working with live animals. Graduates are encouraged to pursue professional designation as Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs).
