Program overview

The Pharmacy Technician two-year Ontario College Diploma program prepares students to become essential members of interprofessional healthcare teams across community pharmacies, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. The curriculum combines theoretical biological sciences, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical calculations with practical laboratory training in non-sterile and sterile compounding.

The program aligns with the entry-to-practice competencies set by the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA). Graduates are eligible to pursue registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) upon completing the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) licensing exams and OCP Jurisprudence Exam.
