Program overview
The Interior Decorating program offers a dynamic environment for developing creative and technical skills through studio, lab, lecture experiences, field trips, and guest speakers. Students study color, textiles, finishes, and fixtures utilizing Conestoga’s extensive sample library. Using industry-standard software, the curriculum emphasizes space planning, drafting, and 2D/3D visual presentations, complemented by coursework in business practices and entrepreneurship. The final semester features a field placement providing real-world experience in decorating/design firms, product showrooms, design magazines, or home staging companies.
