Program overview
The General Arts and Science – One Year certificate program provides a foundational education in arts and sciences while allowing flexibility to explore further post-secondary options or university degree pathways. The curriculum builds core competencies in communication, critical thinking, research, and global contemporary issues. Students develop a capstone research project, paper, and portfolio, culminating in a presentation. The program includes dedicated career exploration, and in the second semester, students consult with their program coordinator to choose elective courses aligned with their goals or eligible for university credit transfer. Graduates may transfer into Conestoga’s Two-year General Arts and Science Diploma, apply to other college programs, or pursue university studies.
