Program overview
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program at Laurentian University prepares students for registration as Registered Nurses (RN) through a curriculum approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). The program blends physical and life sciences with social sciences, psychology, and organizational management to provide a comprehensive healthcare perspective.
Students gain hands-on clinical experience starting in their first term in a state-of-the-art simulation lab and diverse community settings (such as long-term care and acute care hospitals). The curriculum emphasizes core nursing foundations—including relational practice, determinants of health, professional caring, and health promotion—while offering interdisciplinary collaboration with fields like midwifery, human kinetics, social work, and medicine.
