Program overview

The Psychology Program is one of Algoma University’s most popular offerings. It provides a foundational understanding of human and non-human behavior while fostering critical thinking and scientific data analysis skills:

  • Degree Options & Personalization: Offers two distinct degree pathways tailored to student strengths, supported by small class sizes for individualized professor-student mentorship.

  • Core Subject Areas: Curriculum spans methodology alongside two broad categories—courses focusing on the social bases of behavior and those focusing on the biological bases of behavior.

  • Comprehensive Exploration: Moves beyond basic counseling and abnormal psychology to examine diverse subfields, scientific research, and practical applications.

  • Career Foundations: Serves as a versatile stepping stone for graduate studies or careers requiring critical thinking, data analysis, and an understanding of human behavior.
