Program overview
The Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design (Fast Track) program allows qualified college or university graduates direct admission into Year 2 (Semester 3) of this three-year advanced diploma program to receive their credential in two years (four semesters). The curriculum combines engineering theory and practice, emphasizing the design and development of mechanical devices and equipment using advanced CAD/CAM skills and finite element analysis with ANSYS software. Approximately one-quarter of the program focuses on project work simulating real workplace assignments. Graduates can choose to enter the workforce or gain industry experience through an optional co-op version with two paid work terms.
