Program overview
The French-language Concurrent Bachelor of Education (B.Éd.) program at Laurentian’s School of Education is one of the unique options in Ontario offering a concurrent pathway to teacher certification in French. Students complete a 4-year undergraduate degree while integrating education coursework, professional workshops, and hands-on teaching placements across a variety of educational and community contexts (such as Frontier College, YMCA, Better Beginnings Better Futures, and the Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury).
The program offers two teaching streams:
-
Primary / Junior (JK – Grade 6)
-
Junior / Intermediate (Grades 4 – 10)
This 5-year integrated program allows students to gain early, diverse field experiences to confirm their career path in teaching, while offering the flexibility to graduate with their 4-year undergraduate degree if they choose not to proceed into the final professional year.
